Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about Career Fast Pass.

About
Career Fast Pass is an AI-powered tool that helps high school students and entry-level job seekers build a complete career package in minutes. Using a short intake form, we generate a personalized résumé and cover letter for free; interview prep, career path recommendations, and a 5-milestone roadmap are available on affordable paid plans — all tailored to your specific job target.
Your résumé and cover letter — with a basic résumé score, the job application tracker and your portfolio page — are free to build and download, no credit card required. There are also optional paid plans (Starter, Plus, and Pro) that unlock extras like interview prep, the interview simulator, career paths, and the auto-updating roadmap. You'll never be charged by surprise, and the core résumé and cover letter stay free.
Primarily high school students applying for their first or second job — but it works well for anyone early in their career. If you're entering the workforce without much experience and need a professional-looking resume fast, this is for you.
Using the Kit
No — you can generate a résumé and cover letter without an account. Creating a free account lets you save them and access them later. (The career roadmap and interview simulator are available on paid plans.) We recommend creating an account so your work isn't lost.
Usually a minute or two. The kit builder runs 10 AI steps in sequence — structuring your profile, resume, cover letter, interview prep, career paths, kit summary, resume score, local employers, LinkedIn profile, and college pathways — and shows a live progress bar as each one completes. Steps your plan doesn't include are skipped, so a Free kit finishes faster.
Yes. Once your resume is generated, click "Edit Resume" to change any of it right in your browser — no downloading, no Word, no starting over. You can also swap the look of it any time: Free comes with 4 resume designs, Starter unlocks 10, and Plus and above unlock all 40. Whatever design you pick, you can download it as a finished PDF that's ready to hand to an employer.
Every generated resume is scored from 0–100 using an AI rubric. Scores break down across six categories: Contact Info, Objective, Skills, Experience, Education, and Overall Polish. You'll also get specific tips on how to improve each area.
  • 55–65: Basic resume with all sections filled in
  • 70–80: Decent resume with concrete skills and real experience
  • 85+: Outstanding resume with quantified results
You can upload an existing resume (PDF or TXT) at /import-resume and get an instant AI score with category breakdown and actionable tips. There's also an option to have AI rewrite your resume based on the feedback.
Finding Your Way Around
Look for Account in the top right corner of any page. On your dashboard and inside a kit, it's also at the bottom of the left sidebar, just above Sign Out. On a phone, it's the Account tab in the bar at the bottom of the screen. You can also go straight to your account page. That's where your plan, your email address, and your billing all live.
Everything you've built lives on your Dashboard. Log in and it's the first thing you see. Click any kit to open it back up — your résumé, cover letter, and everything else is exactly where you left it. Nothing expires.
Open your kit. The Download Full Kit button is in the top right — that gives you everything in one PDF. If you only want the résumé, go to the Resume tab and use the download button there. Both come out as clean PDFs you can email, print, or upload to a job application.
It depends on your plan, and it resets every month. Free gives you 3 new kits a month, Starter 5, Plus 10, and Pro 20. Kits you've already made don't count against next month — they just stay on your dashboard. Most people build a fresh kit for each job they're seriously going after, because a résumé aimed at one specific job beats a generic one every time.
On the Resume tab, click Browse all 40 templates. Pick one and it applies instantly — your text doesn't change, just the layout. Designs your plan doesn't include are marked with a padlock. Free includes 4, Starter 10, and Plus and above include all 40.
Go to Account and click Change email. This is worth doing before you graduate if you signed up with a school email — school accounts usually get shut off after you leave, and you don't want to lose access to your own work. Everything you've built moves with you.
Check your spam or junk folder first — that's where it usually is. If it's not there, go to Account and click Resend link. School email accounts sometimes block outside mail entirely; if that's what's happening, switch to a personal email address and it'll come through. Still stuck? Email support@careerfastpass.com and we'll sort it out.
On the login page, click Forgot password and we'll email you a reset link. If it doesn't show up in a few minutes, check spam.
Go to Account, scroll to the bottom, and use the delete option. You'll need your password and you'll have to type DELETE to confirm, because this can't be undone. Any active subscription is canceled at the same time. Download anything you want to keep first — once it's gone, it's gone. If you just want to stop paying but keep your work, cancel your subscription instead; your account stays and so does everything in it.
Email support@careerfastpass.com or use the suggestion box at the bottom of this page. Tell us what page you were on and what happened. If something on this site confused you, that's our problem to fix, not yours — and we'd rather hear about it.
Interview Simulator
The Interview Simulator generates 5 realistic interview questions for your specific job target. You type your answers, and AI gives you instant feedback — what you did well, what to improve, and a sample strong answer. At the end you get an overall session score with strengths and areas to work on.
Yes, if you're logged in. All completed interview sessions are saved to your dashboard so you can review your feedback, track improvement over time, and share results with a counselor or teacher.
Career Roadmap
After generating a kit, a personalized 5-milestone roadmap is created in the background. Each milestone includes a title, description, stage (Foundation, Building, Advancing, Launching, Achieving), and a detailed action guide. As you complete milestones, your resume updates automatically to reflect your progress.
Absolutely. The roadmap has built-in flexibility features:
  • Edit Goal — change your dream career and regenerate all future milestones
  • Choose a Different Path — see three alternative career directions to explore
  • Life Happened — tell the AI about a change in your situation and it adjusts your milestones accordingly
Plans & Billing
Go to Account and click Manage subscription. That opens your billing page, where you can upgrade, downgrade, change your card, switch between monthly and yearly, see your invoices, or cancel. Everything to do with money lives in that one place. You never have to email anyone to cancel.
You only pay the difference for the days you have left, and the upgrade is instant. So if you're on Starter and jump to Plus halfway through the month, you pay a few dollars today — not a whole new $7.99 — and your new features unlock right away. From then on you're billed the normal Plus price on your usual date.
Yes, and this is usually the better move. Go to AccountManage subscription and pick the smaller plan. You're not charged anything today, and here's the important part: you keep your current features until the end of the month you already paid for. The cheaper price starts on your next billing date. Nothing is taken away early.
No. You keep everything you paid for through the end of your current billing period, then your account drops to Free. If you cancel on the 5th and your month runs to the 28th, you have full access until the 28th. You won't be charged again after that.
No, and this trips people up, so here's the difference. Cancelling stops future charges — you're not billed again, and you keep access until the period you already paid for runs out. A refund is us giving back money you already paid. Cancelling does not automatically refund you, and being refunded does not automatically cancel you. If you want both, do both.
Email support@careerfastpass.com within 14 days of your first charge and tell us what didn't work. We'll refund you — no argument, no reason required. There's no button for this because a real person handles it, usually within a day or two. After 14 days, charges are final, but you can cancel any time to stop the next one.
Nothing is deleted. Ever. Your kits, résumés, and cover letters stay on your dashboard and you can still download all of them as PDFs, including work you created on a paid plan. What changes is what you can make going forward: paid features lock again, your résumé design switches back to a free one, and your monthly kit limit drops. Interview Prep and your Career Roadmap also close until you're back on a plan that includes them. The moment you resubscribe, all of it unlocks again exactly as you left it — including the résumé design you picked.
AccountManage subscription → update your payment method. Do this before your card expires and you'll never notice a thing.
You don't get locked out immediately. We'll show a banner at the top of the site asking you to update your card, and we keep retrying for a few days while you keep full access. Fix the card in that window and nothing is interrupted. If it never goes through, the account drops to Free — but your work is still there waiting.
Stripe emails you a receipt automatically every time you're charged, so check the inbox you signed up with (and the spam folder the first time). Every invoice you've ever been charged is also listed under AccountManage subscription, and you can view or download any of them there. If a parent or guardian is paying, that's the page to show them.
Yes, from AccountManage subscription. Yearly works out to about two months free compared to paying monthly.
Ask a parent or guardian first — they should be the one entering the card. And you don't have to pay anything to get a real résumé out of this site. The free plan gives you a complete, downloadable résumé and cover letter. Paid plans add extras like interview practice and your career roadmap.
